Highlights of DeBo's Jr. Titan Tennis Camp

• Skills

• Players learn how to play the game of tennis
• Players learn strategies on how to beat an opponent
• All facets of the game are taught: serve, forehand, backhand, volleys and lobs
• Players learn how to train their bodies for competition (strenght and conditioning is emphasized)

• Individualized Instruction

• Each player has an opportunity to spend time with a coach on development of certain skills
• Groups are not usually bigger than four or five people
• Campers also benefit from upper classman instructing at the camp

• Competition/Games

• More advance players will begin to match play towards the end of camp
• All players are given an opportunity to play games like bob sled, king/queen of the court, and around the world
• Skills testing is conducted where each player is given a score on forehands, backhands, serves, overheads, and volleys. Prizes are awarded to each grade level and gender winner.

• Lifetime Activity

• Players develop skills that will allow them to be active for as long as they live
• Tennis is a sport that can be played by anyone almost anywhere

• Value

• For only a small fee, campers are exposed to a small portion of what will come to them at the high school level.
• The camp only costs $30, t-shirt and instruction is included.
• Water is provided and a treat during the camp

• My tennis players develop community and teamwork through the many experiences offered to them during the camp
• Some of the activities are:
  • Team nights
  • Bus rides
  • DQ ice cream stops
